On Saturday, Sept. 22, Bellevue College women’s soccer played host to Walla Walla CC, the three-time (2009, ’10, ’11) NWAACC Women’s Soccer Champions. The teams battled throughout a scoreless first half, both playing with high energy and determination. Finally, in the 53rd minute, Bellevue’s Gabriella Rodriguez got an assist from Tatum Ross to send the ball into the back of the Warriors net for what would be the single score of the match. Bellevue entered an important “W” in the win column, hanging on for the 1-0 victory. Shutout recorded by Sophie Rockow.

"It was great step up for this program to beat the NWAACC #2 team that hasn't being beaten since 2006 during a league contest - that’s how dominating the Warriors have been over the last decade in women's soccer,” said head coach Tao Shen. "Considering our last two meetings where we lost 5-1 and 5-0, it shows how far Bellevue College women's soccer has come since then and has a bright future ahead. It makes all the hard work worthwhile and is probably one of my most proudest moment as a coach for this program."

For the final home game of this four-match home stand, Bellevue welcomes Tacoma CC on Wednesday, Sept. 26, at 2:00 p.m.
