The Bellevue College women’s soccer team struggled to provide any offensive threat in the first half as they took on West Region opponent Tacoma Community College on Wednesday, Sept. 26, at home. The Titans broke through in the 13th minute for the only goal in the first half, with the remainder of that period being a struggle to maintain possession or create any real goal threat.
Bellevue came out much stronger to begin the second half, but TCC found the back of the Bulldogs net again in the 61st minute. The Bulldogs continued to fight, and finally in the 85th minute, Bellevue freshman Laura Barnes made it 2-1 of a set piece right outside the 18-yard box. The loss takes BC’s league record to 4-1-0 and second place in standings behind Peninsula College.
The Saturday, Sept. 29, match against Wenatchee Valley College was cancelled due to hazardous air quality in the Wenatchee Valley from the wildfires in that area, and will be rescheduled at a later date. Next up for the Bulldogs, a road trip on Weds., Oct. 3, to play Highline CC at 2:00 p.m.
