BELLEVUE WOMEN WIN HOME REGION OPENER
September 20, 2012

Tatum Ross scored the only goal in a home-opening win 1-0 over Olympic.

The Bellevue College women’s soccer team hosted the home West Region opener against cross-sound rival Olympic College on Wednesday, Sept. 19. Though the Bulldogs got some good looks at goals and some near-misses scoring opportunities, the Rangers defense held on until the 68th minute when Tatum Ross was able to score the lone goal of the game, giving Bellevue its first league win of the new season by a score of 1-0, and the first shutout posted for Ashley Stearman-Joanis.

“In soccer, sometimes you have only one goal to show for the entire match, but it can be the game winner,” said Bellevue head coach Tao Shen. “Soccer can be a cruel game as you can have all the chances and still lose if you don’t take care of business. I’m just glad this lesson was not as costly as last year’s against Olympic.”

Next up, another home match with Bellevue hosting three-time NWAACC Women’s Soccer Champions, Walla Walla on Saturday, Sept. 22, at 1 p.m.
