Bellevue College women’s soccer team took control of the match from start to finish on Wednesday, Oct. 10, against the visiting Lower Columbia College Red Devils. Freshman Alicia Bowman made it 1-0 in the 14th minute on an assist from Gabby Rodriguez, and only 14 minutes later the two connected again, this time with Bowman assisting and giving Rodriguez the opportunity to score her ninth goal of the season, and ended the half 2-0 in favor of the Bulldogs.
Bellevue started the second half strong with Bowman heading another goal in the 46th minute on an assist from freshman Avery Linn. Bulldog Tatum Ross put the finishing touches to make it 4-0 in the 87th minute on a Halle Rice assist. “We created many opportunities to score throughout the match and managed to finish four times,” said Bellevue assistant coach Kiko Magana. “We did an excellent job to win the midfield battle and hold the ball for a good amount of possession.” The Bulldogs took 11 shots compared to Lower Columbia’s one in the match.
Next up for the Bulldogs will be a road trip to Spokane on Saturday, Oct. 13, to face East Region top-ranked Spokane.
