BULLDOG WOMEN’S SOCCER TIE ONE; WIN ONE

The Bulldogs women’s soccer team traveled to Des Moines, home of the Highline Thunderbirds, on Wednesday, Oct. 3, and battled to a late-match 1-1 tie. It wasn’t until the 81st minute that BC’s Gabriella Rodriguez was able to punch in the first goal, but the lead held up for only seven minutes, when Highline scored the tying goal, making this the first league tie for Bellevue.
On Saturday, Oct. 6, Bellevue played host to East Region rival Columbia Basin, holding the Hawks scoreless throughout the match. Both teams were scoreless throughout most of the first half, then Bulldog freshman Tatum Ross scored at minute 41. It wasn’t until the 77th minute that the Bulldogs would get their second goal by Alicia Bowman on an assist by Ashley Hernandez. Bellevue’s Sophie Rockow recorded the shutout.
Bellevue women’s soccer league record stands at 5-1-1, 7-2-1 overall season, and they are second in the West Region behind powerhouse Peninsula. The Bulldogs host Lower Columbia College on Wednesday, Oct. 10, at 2 p.m.
