Women’s Soccer Climbs to #4 Ranking; Two Ties This Week

The BC women’s soccer team climbed into the rankings during the latest poll earning the number four spot behind Columbia Basin, Spokane, and Walla Walla respectively. This Wednesday Sept. 21, the Bulldogs took the field against Green River. For the second time in as many games, the Bulldogs took the early lead scoring in the first minute of the game from the foot of Gabriella Rodriguez; assisted by Hailey Conway.
In the 13th minute of the game, Green River was able to tie up the score at 1-1 which ended up being the final score. With the tie the ladies go to 2-2-1 overall and remain at the top of the West Region with a 2-0-1 record.
On Saturday Sept. 24, the women headed north to face off with Whatcom. Simply put, defense was on display as the two teams battled for 90 minutes ending in a 0-0 tie. Goalkeeper Brianna Jackson earned another shutout as she has given up just one goal over the last four games. With the tie, the ladies fall to 2nd place in the West behind Peninsula, who sits at 3-1-0 in West Region league play.
The Bulldogs fall to 2-0-2 in league and will travel to fifth-ranked Edmonds (to be played at Meadowdale HS in Lynnwood) on Wednesday Sept. 28 for a 5:30PM start.
