Bulldog Forward Honored: DeYoung Named NWAACC North Region Player of the Week

Sophomore Forward Jenny DeYoung was named Player of the Week in the NWAACC North Region after leading the Bulldogs to a 2-0 start in league play.  A graduate of Redmond High School, DeYoung played a pivotal role in Bellevue’s 87-84 double overtime victory at North Seattle Community College on January 6, nailing a three pointer to tie the game at the end of regulation, and putting BCC up for good at the end of the second overtime. 

In two victories last week, including Bellevue’s 77-54 victory over Whatcom Community College on January 3rd, DeYoung totaled 28 points, 16 rebounds, 6 assists, and 5 steals.  Her strong play throughout the season has been a key element of the Bulldogs’ success, as the team is off to their best start ever at 12-1.
