WOMEN’S BASKETBALL HOSTS TOURNAMENT
December 7, 2009
The Bellevue Women’s Basketball hosted the annual Bulldogs Classic Tournament Dec. 4-6 in the BC gym. Visiting teams included Big Bend, Green River, Highline, Mount Hood, Portland, Treasure Valley and Whatcom.
In Friday’s game, the Bulldogs took on Portland and came away with a 65-37 win. Bellevue was led in scoring by BC sophomores Alisha Love with 16, and Amy Rochowiak with 12.
Saturday, the Bulldogs came out again firing on all cylinders in a game against Highline. With four players shooting in the double-digits: Maddie Miller for 18, Tiffany Shen for 10, Love for 19, and Rochowiak pasting on another 11, the bulldogs chalked up the win over Highline with the final score 75-64.
The Bulldogs streak came to an end Sunday when the Bulldogs faced off against Mount Hood for the tournament championship. Though two BC freshmen 5’-9” Kelly Sutherland and Olivia Lewis were able to contribute 12 and 10 points respectively, and a great Bulldog rally following half time, Bellevue never did completely close the gap and lost the title to Mount Hood 66-54.
Bellevue’s Alisha Love was selected for the All-tournament team.
