BULLDOGS DROP CLOSE GAME TO STORM
January 28, 2008

Lyndsee Landon
BCC sophomore Lyndsee Landon watches the flight of her shot over a North Seattle defender. Landon totaled 15 points and 9 rebounds, but it was not enough as Bellevue fell 46-52 to the Storm on January 26.

The BCC women’s basketball team dropped a close game at home to North Seattle falling 52-46 on January 26, and missing a chance to gain ground on idle Everett Community College.

Bellevue came out the aggressor, opening up an early 20-7 lead. The Storm had an answer however, closing to 21-14 at halftime.  The second half saw the Bulldogs open up several double digit leads, only to have the Storm make a run to keep the game close.  Storm pressure, which forced 27 Bulldog turnovers, allowed the visitors to claim a late lead.  Bellevue shot a woeful 8 for 19 (42.1%) from the free throw line, missing key opportunities, while North Seattle made big plays in big moments.  The loss snapped a tie between the two schools, and puts Bellevue two games behind league leader Everett at 5-3 in league play.

Leading the way for the Bulldogs was sophomore Lyndsee Landon with 15 points and 9 boards, both team highs. Also in double figures for Bellevue were Marissa Bower and Danielle Bue who both added 11 points to go along with 6 and 8 rebounds respectively.

Next up for the Lady Bulldogs will be a tough road game Wednesday January 30th against Everett CC. The Bulldogs dropped two close games to Everett early in the season and will be looking for a measure of revenge and a chance to gain ground in the league playoff race. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30pm.
