BULLDOG WOMEN SHAKE OFF RUST, TOP TRITONS
The BCC women’s basketball team struggled early taking a 3 point lead into halftime against a winless Edmonds team before pulling away in the second half for a 78-52 victory on February 2. The Tritons jumped out to an early 12-6 advantage in a half that saw 7 ties and 7 lead changes. After intermission, the Bulldogs regained their form, outscoring the Tritons by 23 in the second stanza. Bellevue was lead by sophomore Marissa Bower who narrowly missed a double-double scoring a game high 21 points while hauling down 9 rebounds. Freshman Ashanii Jenkins was a force down low scoring 20 for the Bulldogs. Sophomore Lyndsee Landon posted a double-double scoring 17 while grabbing 10 boards. BCC improves to 12-10 on the season with a 7-3 league record and currently sits in 3rd place, ½ game behind Seattle and 1 game behind Everett.
