BCC DEFEATS TACOMA IN HOME OPENER

The BCC Women's Basketball team picked up their first win of the season, a 72-66 decision over the visiting Tacoma Community College Titans on November 27. The Bulldogs were hot early, storming out to a 47-31 halftime lead. BCC exploited their substantial height advantage, as front line starters Marissa Bower and Ashanii Jenkins both scored 17 points in the opening period.

The TCC Zone collapsed to clog the lane in the second half, and the Titans stormed back into the game. Bower was held to just 2 second half points, but Jenkins would not be denied, scoring 16 second half points to cap a 33 point 16 rebound performance, and helping hold of TCC late. Bower finished with 10 rebounds to go along with her 19 points.

Up next, Bellevue (1-2) will take on Highline Community College on Tuesday, December 4 at 6:30pm.
