This is Kim's second year at the helm of the Bulldog Volleyball team. After finishing 3rd in the league last year, Kim is excited to improve upon her season in 2007 with a strong recruiting class and outstanding returning sophomores. Kim also coaches for Northwest juniors Volleyball Club located in Bellevue where she works with the U18 team. She is also Northwest Volleyball's Adult Program Director and Assistant Club Director for Northwest Juniors VBC. Prior to coaching at BCC, Kim was the head coach at Kent-Meridian High School, and assistant coach at Evergreen High School, and volunteer assistant at Sumner High School. She has also worked many different camps and clinics in the Sumner and Bellevue areas. Kim coached the Northwest Juniors U17 team in 2005 and 2006. In 2005 she led them to a 4th place finish in the Regional Championships.
Kim attended Sumner High School, where the she played volleyball and basketball. Both teams qualified for state for the first time in the school's history (1997 and 1996 respectively) and the volleyball team placed in 6th state the following year (1998). Kim then played at Central Washington University from 1998-2001 where she was a middle blocker and a team captain in 2000-01. The team finished third in the NCAA in 1999, and second in the GNAC the following two years. She also received her bachelor’s degree in Public relations and business administration, graduating spring of 2002.
Kim on this year's team: "I am extremely excited of the 2007 squad we have coming in. Our returners are a threat offensively and scrappy on defense. Sophomore libero Amanda Crank is going to do wonders for us in the middle/middle position. She had a year playing DS and watching our 2006 standout libero Kaitlyn Senn, and I have no doubts she will not skip a beat taking over as libero. Another returning DS is Amanda Frost who has gotten down to business recently in order to be the best DS she can be. She is ready to fill in wherever needed in that back row, and her mental toughness and personality is always helpful to our team. Returning captain and 2nd Team award winner, Nicole Ljutic, will continue to be a force to reckon with. We are working on Ljutic's range and ability to swing outside; no doubt she will be a major threat wherever she attacks the ball. Jessica DuBois also returns to swing outside. With a great arm and a great ability to put the ball down, Jess is an integral part of this year's team. Setter Kelli Skeim returns to run our offense. Kelli is a major competitor and she is incredibly intense and will certainly contribute to our team's 2007 success. Our incoming freshmen are bringing a high level of play to the fold as well. All BCC volleyball players will be competing for their position, and that will ensure the best of the best is on the court at any given time. They are all working tremendously hard to make this year the best they can, and I anticipate it will be a great year. Good luck to all teams in the NWAACC."
