The Bellevue Bulldogs defeated the Whatcom Orcas on Monday, Oct. 22, at home in three games 25-12, 25-16 and 25-19. Outside hitter Laura Friar led the Bulldogs offense with 13 kills, followed by outside hitter Kylai Cooley with 11, and right side Allison Chin with five. Chin and middle blocker Samantha Minnig also led the Bulldog defense in blocks. Cooley had 13 digs for the Bulldogs, with defensive specialist Taylor Phan, 12, and Libero Madison Agnew with 10. Setter Krista Groves had 30 assists in the match.
The Bulldogs have a well-deserved bye and are not back in action until Monday, Oct. 31, Halloween night when they host the Skagit Valley Cardinals at 7 p.m. The evening is also Bellevue’s Sophomore Recognition Night in their final home game of the season.
With a current league record of 9-0, Bellevue has qualified for a spot in the NWAACC Volleyball Championship that will be held at Mount Hood CC November 15-18.
