WOMEN'S TENNIS:
BULLDOGS WRAP UP ANOTHER UNDEFEATED SEASON; TAKE AIM AT FOURTH NWAACC TITLE
The BCC Women's Tennis team put the wraps on an undefeated season with three victories last weekend to bring their season record to 10-0 heading into the NWAACC Championships. For the Bulldogs, it marks their third consecutive undefeated year and extends their four year winning streak to 48 consecutive matches. Bellevue traveled to Mt. Vernon, WA to take on the Cardinals of Skagit Valley College on Thursday, May 8 in match that was rescheduled from May 3 due to weather. The Bulldogs received a scare in their first match of the day, as their number two doubles team lost for the first time on the year. Things returned to form, however as BCC recovered to sweep the remaining matches and come away with an 8-1 victory. Friday May 9 was a busy day for Bellevue, as they played host to the Community Colleges of Spokane, and Treasure Valley Community College. Bellevue was dominant in both matches, coming away with a pair of 9-0 victories and a strong showing heading into the NWAACC Championship Tournament May 16-18 in Spokane. The Bulldogs will be striving for their fourth consecutive NWAACC Championship. Friday's doubleheader marked the final home appearance for a pair of sophomores who have had stellar careers. For Courtney Groszhans, playing number two singles, her victories advanced an undefeated career in singles matches. Ciara Schultz, playing number one singles, has been nearly as brilliant in her two seasons, losing only three times against the top competition in the NWAACC.
