BELLEVUE COLLEGE SOFTBALL INVITED TO UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON'S FALL TOURNAMENT
September 14, 2012

The Bellevue Softball program is coming off a great 2011 season where the team posted a 38-3 overall record and a 24-0 undefeated region record to capture a fifth North Region title and a fourth place finish at the NWAACC Championships.  In 2011, the Bulldogs spent most of the year ranked number one in the NWAACC Coaches' Poll.  The team also won North Region titles in 2009, 2008, 2006 and 2005 (the first region title in school history) and placed second in 2010 and 2007.

For the last seven years there have been a number of all-league players including seven first-team and three second-team selections in 2011, including the North Region Player and Pitcher of the Year. Bellevue also had seven first-team and three second-team selections in 2010, six first-team and the North Region Player and Pitcher of the Year in 2009, seven first-team and one second-team and the North Region Player of the Year selection in 2008, seven first-team and one second-team selection in 2007, five first- team, two second-team, and the North Region Pitcher of the Year selection in 2006 and three first-team and two second-team selections in 2005.  Bellevue has also had a number of NWAACC All-Americans; Kristen Allen and Rogin Hardy in 2011, Tobey Varney in 2011 and 2010, Erica Addison, Dawn Norcross and Korri Heidemann in 2008 and Caitlin Storkson in both 2006 and 2005.

The coaching staff is very excited about the future of the program and with a great group of returners and newcomers, look forward to building on last season’s success!

The staff's goal
is to provide the softball student-athletes at Bellevue with a college experience that offers them the support and knowledge to help them: become better students, better athletes and better citizens; make the transition from high school to a 4-year college or university; play in a top-notch program that they can participate at for two years. To learn from each other, to work hard, and to enjoy the entire experience!  The staff is dedicated to keeping Bellevue one of elite community college softball programs in the Pacific Northwest with the ambition, desire, background and knowledge to make this happen.

The coaches expect athletes to give 100% at all times in the classroom and on the ballfield and are committed to giving them the support to help make them successful.  Above all, the coaches will strive to make this an experience that our players will enjoy and have fun with!

If you have any questions about the softball program here at Bellevue College, please do not hesitate to contact Leah Francis, Head Softball Coach at leah.francis@bellevuecollege.edu.
