With a pair of wins over Shoreline Community College, the BCC Softball team put the wraps on one of the finest seasons in their history.
Bellevue and Shoreline met for final time this season at UW Husky Softball Field on the University of Washington Campus for a doubleheader on May 10. Dawn Norcross belted her team leading ninth home run of the season in game one, and Michelle Wilson went four for four at the plate as the Bulldog offense racked up 16 hits en route to a 6-4 win. Christine Miller-Long picked up the win.
Game two saw the BCC bats attack Shoreline pitching for 10 runs on 19 hits, and Michelle Ruby held the Dolphins in check to pickup a 10-3 victory. Allison Stanford also hit her second home run of the season for Bellevue.
With the wins, Bellevue finished the regular season with 41 wins on the year, the most in the NWAACC. BCC's 41-4 overall record, and 34-2 league mark are among the best in school history. The Bulldogs also finished the regular season on a 14 game winning streak.
By virtue of their third league championship in four years, BCC has claimed the Northern Region's number one seed to the NWAACC Championships May 16-18 at Delta Park in Portland, OR. The Bulldogs' first round game will be against Centralia Community College, the number four seed from the West Region, slated for 11:30am on May 16.

Thank you for your interest in Bellevue Community College and the softball program!
The BCC Softball program is coming off a great 2007 season where we posted a 38-12 record and recorded our best finish in school history at the NWAACC Championships! In 2007, BCC spent the entire year ranked in the Top 8 in the NWAACC’s. During the 2006 and 2005 seasons the team won back-to-back division titles posting a 38-9 record in 2006 and a 30-13 record in 2005 and qualifying for the NWAACC Championships both seasons.
During our first three years with the program, we have had a number of all-league players including having seven first team and one second team selection in 2007, five first team, two second team, and the pitcher of the year selections in 2006 and three first team and two second team selections in 2005. During the 2006 and 2005 seasons, Caitlin Storkson was named an NWAACC All-American – the first time an award has been given to a BCC player!
We are very excited about the future of the program and with a great group of returners and newcomers, look forward to building on last season’s success!
Our goal as a staff is to provide our players - the softball student athletes at BCC - with a community college experience that offers them the support and knowledge to help them become better students, better athletes and better citizens; to provides them the support and knowledge to make the transition from high school to a 4-year college or university as well as to provide them with a top-notch program that they can participate at for 2 years. To learn from each other, to work hard, and to enjoy the entire experience! We are dedicated to bringing BCC to the forefront of community college softball programs in the Pacific Northwest and we believe we have the ambition, desire, background and knowledge to make this happen!
We are very excited to have a chance to work with quality student-athletes at BCC and are dedicated to providing them with a fundamental background that will help make them successful at this level and the next! We expect our athletes to give 100% at all times in the classroom and on the ballfield and we are committed to giving them the support to help make them successful. Above all we will strive to make this an experience that they will enjoy and have fun with!
