Softball Camps and Clinics
The Bellevue College softball program's coaches and players are committed to teaching the fundamental skills of softball to the areas future stars! Head Coach Leah Francis (UW Alumni 1999) and Assistant Coaches Sarah Hyatt (UW Alumni 2006) are former players for the University of Washington softball program and both played in numerous Women's College World Series games while at the UW. The BC Coaching staff has extensive experience as players and coaches and brings extensive knowledge about the game to BCC. The BC softball camps and clinics are designed to teach the skills of offense and defense that are useful for players of all levels; youth leagues, summer leagues, high school, and college and will help them to become more successful in the sport of softball!

CAMP AND CLINIC OVERVIEW:
OFFENSE:
The offensive sessions will focus on teaching the fundamentals to help players become better offensively. The sessions will include an overview of hitting and bunting and provide players with a number of drills to help incorporate the fundamentals into the various areas of offense. The baserunning portion will be designed to show players techniques and tricks to help them become bigger threats on the basepaths! The offensive portions are great for players who need a review of hitting and baserunning or for players who are just starting out.
DEFENSE:
The defensive sessions will focus on teaching the fundamentals to help players become better defensively. These sessions will include an overview of infield and outfield drills and will break down the throwing techniques to help players become more consistent and sound with their defensive skills. The defensive portions are designed to take you from the basic fundamentals to high skill level techniques. Whether you are an infielder, outfielder or catcher, all defensive players are encouraged to take advantage of these sessions.
WHAT TO BRING:
Be sure to bring gloves, bats, proper clothing (shoes, cleats and cold weather clothing) as well as refreshments and lunches (for camps that run through lunch time).
SUPERVISION/STAFF:
Please see the BC Softball Coaches bios on the BC website for overviews of the lead instructors.
Members of the BC softball team and other local colleges and universities will serve as assistant instructors to ensure a proper participant instructor ratio of approximately 6:1. Parents and coaches are encouraged to watch, ask questions, and provide reflective commentary on instructor quality. We value this input and have used this to improve our quality of instruction. Observers must stay clear of the activity area in order to maintain a safe camp environment. Once camp terminates, there will be NO direct supervision of campers (although staff will be present at the facility).
INSURANCE:
All participants must have medical clearance and insurance to participate. Medical expenses for accidents and / or illnesses are not the responsibility of Bellevue Community College.

Unless otherwise indicated on the registration forms, all BC camps and clinics will be held at the BC Softball field located on the main BC campus in Bellevue. The softball field is on the north end of campus (located below the baseball field). The campus address is:
