SOFTBALL TO PLAY IN FIRST TOURNEY THIS UPCOMING WEEKEND

Bellevue's perennial powerhouse softball program begins tournament play this weekend in Longview at the inaugural Inter-Region Tourney. The Bulldogs will play South Puget Sound and Grays Harbor before squaring off with defending NWAACC Champion Lower Columbia and Oregon powerhouse Chemeketa to close out the round-robin tourney. All games will be played at Tam O'Shanter Park in Longview. Check the softball web page for detailed start times. Returning All-American Korri Heideman will lead the Bulldogs in defense of their North Region title in '08, winning the region title with a 34-2 record. Last week, the Bulldogs tuned up for their upcoming tourney, cruising to a doubleheader sweep over host Centralia by scores of 14-1 and 11-1. Nicole Higgins collected 4 hits in the first win.
