SOFTBALL SWEEPS TWO MORE SERIES; REMAINS UNDFEATED IN THE NORTHERN REGION On Friday April 11, the Bulldogs traveled to Everett to take on the Trojans of Everett Community College. The Bulldog bats were hot in both games, and Bellevue's defense was equally tough, as BCC ran away with a pair of lopsided victories, 15-5 and 9-1. In the day's first game, Michelle Ruby picked up the win, and Dawn Norcross (2) and Rori Magera (1) hit home runs to lead a 14 hit performance from BCC at the Plate. The second game of the twinbill was dominated by pitcher Christine Miller-Long and shortstop Erica Addison. Miller-Long picked up the win as BCC held Everett to just one run on two hits, while Addison was a perfect 5 for 5 from the plate including one homerun. Sunday April 13 saw BCC travel to Shoreline Community College to take on the Dolphins. The first game of the day saw Bellevue run away from Shoreline by a score of 14-4. Ruby picked up the win again, while Korri Heideman and Alison Stanford provided offensive punch with a pair of homeruns. The nightcap was all Bellevue, as Miller-Long picked up her second straight win via a 9-1 score. Heideman and Magera both came up big again at the plate, as each pounded a homerun. Bellevue leads the Northern Region with a perfect 12-0 record in regional play, five games ahead of second place Olympic College. Next up, BCC travels to Port Angeles to take on Peninsula College in a 2:00pm doubleheader on April 15, then plays host to Skagit Valley College on April 16 at 2:00pm on the BCC campus field. |
