BULLDOGS FACE SETBACKS ON THE ROAD

The BCC Men’s Soccer team had hoped for a pair of big road wins last week, but were unable to come away with a victory.  Taking on Pierce College on Friday, October 5, Bellevue found themselves in 1-0 hole after a Raider goal in the 58th minute.  The Bulldogs rallied late, when Fatih Pamukci (FR, Germany) assisted on a Grant Mkrtchyan (FR, Newport HS) goal in the 81st minute.  Neither team was able to find the net in extra time, and the game ended in a 1-1 tie.

Next up, Bellevue visited top ranked Clark College on October 6.  The Bulldogs quickly found themselves in a 2-0 hole, as the Penguins scored in 9th and 21st minute.  BCC battled back with a Chris Fleck (FR, Woodinville HS) goal in the 60th minute, but that would be as close as the Bulldogs would get, falling by the score of 2-1.

The loss and tie drops Bellevue’s record to 5-3-2, and also moves them down to the third spot in the Western Region behind first place Highline Community College, and Peninsula College.  The top two finishers in the region will advance to the NWAACC Championships.

The next match for the Bulldogs will be on Friday, October 12 at home against South Puget Sound Community College at 4:00pm.
