Men's Basketball Coaching Staff

Jeremy Eggers
Head Coach

Jeremy Eggers

Jeremy Eggers is entering his fifth year as head coach of the Bulldogs.  Last year’s team went 28-4 and 15-1 in league play to capture the Northern Region Title for the third year in a row. BCC entered the NWAACC Tournament as a #1 seed for the third straight year, and advanced all the way to the NWAACC Championship game before falling to top ranked Clackamas. BCC's record was the second best mark in the storied history of the program, and it was the team's first appearance in the championship game since the 1992-93 championship season. For the second time in three years, Eggers was named Northern Region Coach of the Year by his fellow coaches-- an award he also received in 2004-2005.

The success of the 2006-07 Bulldogs was yet another step forward for Eggers' program, as each team has improved upon the year before. In his first season, 2003-04, his team fought to a three way tie for the fourth and final playoff spot in the Northern Division. In the tie breaker game BCC fell to Everett (61-63) to end their season just short of the NWAACC Tournament.  Eggers' second year saw the team win it's first Northern Region title with a 22-9 overall record. In his third season, the Bulldogs compiled a 25-7 overall mark, won the region title once more, and advanced to the semifinals of the 2005-06 NWAACC Tournament before falling to eventual champion Highline Community College. Along with his coaching duties, Eggers, works at BCC as a part time instructor and an assistant in the athletic department.

He spent the 2002-03 season as an assistant coach at Washington State University.  Coach Eggers’ duties at WSU included recruiting, on the court coaching, scouting, monitoring academic progress, organizing team travel and individual player workouts.

Prior to WSU, Eggers worked at the PRO Sports Club in Bellevue developing skills for both youth and professional players.  He also spent nine years in the prep ranks at Inglemoor and Bellevue High Schools.  Eggers also coached the Double Pump California All-Stars, a semi-pro team in fall, 1999 and 2000.  His 2000 team posted a 7-1 record, including wins over Arizona State, California, Idaho, New Mexico, Northern Arizona and Utah.

He has coached high school all-star teams for the past eleven summers, the past five as the co-director and coach of Friends of Hoop (FOH), a non-profit organization founded by George Karl when he was coach of the Seattle Sonics.  Friends of Hoop was developed to give high school players the opportunity to play in some of the best prep tournaments in the nation while focusing on education, skill development and sportsmanship.  The top FOH team won both the 2004 and the 2005 Nike Main Event tournament in Las Vegas during summer and finish second in 2006.  Eggers also served as co-director of the NCAA Summer League in Seattle.

Born in Norwich, CT, Eggers is a 1993 graduate of Pacific University, where he was a forward on the basketball team for two seasons.  During his senior year, his squad finished 17th nationally in NAIA, missing out on the national tournament by one game. He has also received his Masters of Education from City University in July 2004.

Prior to Pacific, Eggers attended Edmonds Community College.  He was a two-year member of the basketball team and helped lead Edmonds CC to the NWAACC tournament as a sophomore.

Coach Eggers and his wife, Joleen, have six year-old and two year-old daughters, Jaela and Jaecy.  His hobbies include spending time with his family, golfing and crabbing.

Coach Eggers on this year's team:
“We are trying to build a consistent winner both on and off the court here at BCC and this team is geared to do that. We have a strong class of sophomores from last year’s NWAACC runner-up team and have added a strong class of incoming freshmen that have high expectations for the season. We ask a lot of the players in our program and this year’s team has stepped to that challenge and has worked very hard in the preseason to make a strong run in the NWAACC again this year. I am excited to see this team progress throughout the year and wish everyone in our program the best of luck!”
