BULLDOGS LIGHT UP CARDINALS
February 19, 2008

Steve Wiseley
Bulldog guard Steve Wiseley put together a dominant performance, narrowly missing a triple double as he compiled 10 points, 9 assists and 8 steals in leading BCC to a 94-67 romp over Skagit Valley College on February 18.

The BCC Men’s Basketball team won their second game in a row and kept pace in the tightening race atop the Northern Region with an impressive 94-67 thrashing of Skagit Valley College on Monday, February 18.

Coming off of Saturday’s 84-81 victory over Olympic College the Bulldogs put forth one of their best defensive efforts on the season tying a school record with 23 steals and forcing Skagit into 34 turnovers. Never trailing, Bellevue started slow offensively in the first half before exploding near the 10 minute mark to take a 23 point halftime advantage. BCC held Skagit to 25 points and only 9 field goals in the first half. The second stanza saw more of the same with the bench playing a key role in maintaining the lopsided margin. Truly a team effort, every player logged in over 10 minutes of action and scored at least 3 points. With the victory the Bulldogs improve to 18-8 on the season and 10-4 in league play.

In a game that saw 6 players reach double figures, sophomore Josh Monagle led Bellevue in scoring with 13 points. All-NWAACC guard Steve Wiseley delivered the finest all-around performance his career at Bellevue, narrowly missing a triple double scoring 11 points, dishing out 9 assists, and grabbing 8 steals in only 25 minutes of action. Also in double figures for the Bulldogs was sophomore Michael Duty who posted 10 points to go along with a team high 5 boards. Freshmen Travis Sterling and Curron Singleton added 12 and 11 respectively while Pete Harris added 10 points along with 5 steals.
