BULLDOGS BOUNCE BACK, STOP SHORELINE
January 13, 2008

Steve Wiseley
Bulldog sophomore Steve Wiseley tallied 10 points, 5 rebounds, and 6 assists in leading Bellevue to a 71-59 victory over Shoreline on January 12.

The BCC Men's Basketball team responded to their first loss of the league season in a big way on January 12, racing ahead of visiting early Shoreline, and holding on for a 71-59 victory.

Wednesday night's 50-59 loss at Peninsula fresh in their minds, the Bulldogs were determined to avoid another slow start. BCC used a stifling defense in the first half to claim a 31-21 lead at intermission. For the first 10 minutes of the second half, it was all Bellevue. The Bulldogs found their shooting touch from the three point line, nailing five in the second stanza and led by as many as 23 points before Shoreline finished the game on a 17-6 run to create the final margin.

The win avenged a pre-season loss to the Dolphins at the Pierce Invitational Tournament on November 24. Josh Monagle led all scorers with 18 points, while his frontcourt running mate, Michael Duty, added 13 points and 5 rebounds. Point guard Steve Wiseley was seemingly everywhere, scoring 10 points, dishing out 6 assists, and tying Duty for team high rebounding honors with 5 boards. Red-shirt freshman Curron Singleton nailed a trio of three pointers on his way to 11 points, while sophomore forward Randy Bolick shook off an ankle injury to score 9 points in just 11 minutes.
