BULLDOGS FALL HARD AT WHATCOM CC
The BCC men's basketball team had high hopes of putting themselves in the driver's seat of the Northern Region when they traveled to Whatcom Community College on Wednesday, January 23 tied for first place. Instead, a lackluster effort and torrid Orca shooting resulted in a lopsided 60-80 defeat, and the Bulldogs tumbling to fourth place in the region. The Bulldogs found themselves down early and often against the Orcas struggling to find a rhythm and contending with hot shooting by Whatcom. The Orcas shot 53% from the field in the first half on their way to a 14 point lead. The second half was more of the same with Whatcom shooting a blistering 68% on their way to a 80-60 victory. Leading the way for Bellevue was foul plagued sophomore Michael Duty who posted a team high 12 points and 6 rebounds in 24 minutes of action. Freshman guard Pete Harris was the only other Bulldog in double figures with 10 points. Next up for the Bulldogs will be a game on Saturday January 26th at home against Seattle CC with tipoff slated for 7:30pm. The game will be broadcast on Comcast channel 28, The College Channel, in the east King County area and available for free replay On-Demand for all Comcast Digital Cable subscribers. |
