BULLDOG MEN CAN'T FIND RHYTHM, FALL TO SHORELINE
Three days after one of their best performances of the season, the BCC men’s basketball team could not overcome an early deficit, falling to Shoreline 78-71 Saturday February 9th. The Dolphins built an early lead which saw them up by as many as 19 in the first half before posting a 46-31 lead at the break. The second stanza saw a valiant comeback by the Bulldogs closing the gap to 4 with just under 5 minutes to play. Shoreline came up with key baskets down the stretch and controlled the glass, out-rebounding the Bulldogs 40-27, to hold the Bulldogs at bay. Bellevue also struggled at the freethrow line, shooting an abysmal 5 for 15, while Shoreline converted 14 of 17 attempts from the stripe. The loss drops BCC to 16-8 on the season and 8-4 in league play. Leading the way for the Bellevue was sophomore Josh Monagle who posted a game high 20 points to go along with 4 rebounds. All-NWAACC guard Steve Wiseley was the other Bulldog in double figures with 17 hitting 3 for 6 shots from beyond the arc. Freshman Travis Sterling provided a spark off the bench scoring 8 points and hauling down a team high 5 rebounds. Limited by foul trouble, sophomore Michael Duty still put up 9 points to round out the scoring for Bellevue. |
