BULLDOGS DROP CLOSE GAME AT EVERETT
The BCC men’s basketball team had their chances, but were unable to finish key shots and free throws down the stretch, falling 78-82 to a red hot Everett team on January 30. Leading by 3 at half, Bellevue toughened up defensively in the second half, holding the powerful Trojan offense to 36 second half points, but could not find their own shooting touch. The Bulldogs, who shot a blistering 57.9% in the first half, managed only 29 second half points on 37.5% shooting in the second half. With the loss BCC falls to 14-7 on the season and 6-3 in league play. Sophomore Michael Duty played an impressive game, putting up 20 points while grabbing 13 rebounds dishing out 6 assists and blocking 3 shots, all team highs. Point guard Steve Wiseley added 16 points of his own and dished out 5 assists. Also in double figures for the Bulldogs were guard Pete Harris scoring 12 points while adding 7 boards and 4 assists, and forward Josh Monagle, who contributed 11 points and 8 rebounds. The Bulldogs out rebounded the Trojans 46-34, but were ultimately beaten at the free throw line, where they were a miserable 6 for 14, while Everett converted 8 for 9.
