On Friday, Dec. 9, the 3rd ranked Bellevue Bulldogs hosted the 6th ranked Cougars of Clackamas Community College. A large crowd including a number of coaches from four-year colleges and universities watched as the Bulldogs won a high-scoring affair 90-76. Clackamas had an early hold on the game leading by as many as eight points in the first half. However, Bellevue was able to close the half on a run including a late three-pointer by sophomore Dallas Searles, giving the Bulldogs a 40-36 lead going into half time.

In the second half the Bulldogs relied on an efficient offense to get them a double-digit lead that they would never lose. Bellevue shot 71% from the field in the second half and turned the ball over only seven times leading to their 14-point victory. Bellevue was led in scoring by sophomore Jon Humphrie with 19 points. Humphrie also added five rebounds and four assists. Sophomore Rex Nelson shot 75% from the field en route to scoring 18 points. Nelson led the team with seven rebounds. Keaton Hayenga scored 16 points on 88% shooting. Searles finished with seven points and four assists. The player of the game for the Bulldogs on the defensive end was freshmen Andrew Squiers who was given the job of defending the fourth-leading scorer in the NWAACC and held him 10 points below his average. Squiers also added 11 points and four assists.

Bellevue (5-0, season) travels to Seattle for a three-day Crossover Tournament held at North Seattle Community College Dec. 16-18. The Bulldogs again face Clackamas (4-3) at 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 16. The tournament features NWAACC tournament finalist Pierce College, East region power Yakima Valley Community College, and 5th ranked Walla Walla Community College.
