BCC CROSS COUNTRY INVITATIONAL A BIG SUCCESS
October 25, 2007
The BCC Cross Country team enjoyed one of it’s best performances of the season on Saturday, October 20 at it’s only home meet of the season. Five Bulldogs recorded personal bests for the season in their respective races, led by Freshman David Whalen’s (Mountlake Terrace HS) 27:44 in the Men’s 8K. Fellow first year runners Sean Preston (Bellingham HS) and Timmy Chi (Hazen HS) also recorded their best times of the season, finishing in 28:52 and 29:06 respectively.
On the women’s side, newcomer Daria Lipka had a fantastic debut. She led the 5K race at the start of the gun and finished strong with a time of 21:58. Jasmine Hatch also had a huge race, with a personal best time of 25:02.
Head Coach Jenn Marsh was pleased with the results. “The meet was muddy, wet, but fun”, she said. “Everyone ran really well despite the conditions, which is a great boost before entering the championship meets.”
Bellevue’s next meet will be at the Northern Region Championships in Bellingham, WA on October 27.
