Cross Country Coaching Staff
Jenn Marsh
Head Coach
Athletic Director Bill O’Connor named Jennifer Marsh as interim head coach for the Bellevue Community College men’s and women’s cross country program in the spring of 2007. Marsh steps in for Stella Orechia, who announced her resignation on February 20. Orechia, who has held the head coaching position since 1999, cited the growing demands of her position as a full time instructor in the Health and Physical Education department as the primary reason for her decision to step down.
“Stella will be greatly missed. She has been an outstanding representative of the BCC coaching fraternity the past eight years” said O’Connor.
Marsh, a 2003 graduate of Juanita High School in Kirkland, spent the last four years competing in both track and cross country at Seattle Pacific University. Set to graduate in June with a degree in Exercise Science, she was recently named as an NCAA Division II Indoor Track All American, is a three time NCAA Division II National Qualifier, and has been awarded GNAC All-Conference honors eight times in her career. She has also worked as an intern in the BCC Fitness Center since January 2007.
“In order to continue the work that Stella has already started with recruiting for the upcoming season, we felt it was appropriate at this time to bring in Jennifer on an interim basis”, said O’Connor. “She has had an outstanding career as a competitor at SPU, and we feel that she will embrace the position of head coach with energy and enthusiasm.”
