Background:Returning for third season this year after injuring back in 2011...already graduated with Associates Degree with honors...a corner infielder in 2010 but has transitioned to catcher through his hard work...three-year letter-winner at Sammamish HS for Coach Tim Ahern, now a coach at Bellevue… hit .400 with 23 RBI’s as a senior… 7-2 record with a 3.32 ERA… team captain and MVP as well as First Team All-KingCo 3A third base … was also named to the All-State Team… Second Team All-KingCo 3A third base and team captain as a junior… honorable mention All-KingCo 3A during sophomore year… played summer baseball for Baden Baseball for Coach Kevin Miller… four-year letter-winner in football at Sammamish HS for Coach Ed Webb… finished with 113 tackles senior year… MVP and Team Captain… honorable mention All-KingCo 3A.
Personal: Born July 24, 1991...son of Richard (owner/president truck equipment manufacturing company) and Lisa (homemaker) Minice… one brother (Richard, 22)… one sister (Sarah, 22) … father played tennis at Linfield University… grandfather (Dick Minice) played baseball in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization… cousin (Ben Guidos) currently playing baseball for University of Washington… 3.7 GPA in high school while scoring 1760 on the SAT… National Honor Society member… business major… chose Bellevue to stay local and play in wood bat league… heard about the Bellevue program from Sammamish Coach Tim Ahern… also considered University of Portland, Willamette University, University of Oregon and Washington State University… lists greatest baseball thrill as winning 11 year-old little league All-Stars… dedicating this season to his cousin’s son Nicholas Roger, who lost younger brother Kylie this past year to brain cancer… self-described as determined… goals for this year are to earn a starting position, hit over .300, improve overall game and have the Bulldogs repeat as NWAACC champs.
