Mondays, 11:00 a.m. – 12:20 p.m., Room B257
Instructor: S. Raskin
TEXTBOOK: LONGMAN COMPLETE COURSE FOR THE TOEFL TEST
with Answer Key and CD-Rom
DESCRIPTION: Grammar for the TOEFL is designed for students who need additional focus on grammar skills. Grammar (structure) is a required part of the traditional paper and pencil TOEFL. For students who are preparing for the Institutional TOEFL at BCC, this course will give particular attention to grammar skills that are not directly covered or tested in the new internet-based TOEFL (iBT) which is being introduced this fall.
Relying on the grammar section (Part 2) of the textbook, students will have the opportunity to study and practice the two types of questions, and the 60 structure skills required for the Institutional TOEFL.
In order to cover the material in text adequately, students will be expected to do a substantial amount of homework each week.
Note: To receive Certificates of Attendance, students must have at least 75% attendance for the course (no more than 3 absences).
NO CLASS on Monday, October 31st (Professional Development Day)
