| Cultural Pluralism
A system that holds within it individuals or groups differing in basic background experience and culture. It allows for development of a common tradition, while preserving the right of each group to maintain its cultural heritage. Those of us who have regular, personal, and initial contacts with other cultural groups also have the privilege and responsibility of being an ambassador of our own cultures. This includes not only extending our neighborly warmth, but also seeking to better understand our new neighbor’s backgrounds. |
