Advising

Advising orientations are held once a week in room L113 of the main BCC campus during the regular school year. No appointment is necessary, but we do strongly encourage anyone interested in finding out more about our program to attend one of these group advising sessions before contacting us about individual advising. You'll have a chance to meet one of our full-time faculty members, discuss career and educational options, and find out what makes our program so special.

For dates and times of upcoming advising orientation sessions, and for general information about the Interior Design program, please call the Arts & Humanities Division office at (425) 564-2341. The staff can also put you in touch with our curriculum advisor and schedule advising appointments.

News / Upcoming Events
  • BCC Interior Design Student Wins 1st Place in 2008 Northwest Design Awards

  • For the second year in a row, a BCC Interior Design student was awarded first place in the NWDA student competition. This year, Wei Cai, a third-year student in the Interior Design program, won first place and a $1250 scholarship for his Feng Shui House design. In this project, the goal was to update an existing Northwestern townhouse with a Chinese Feng Shui mentality. Wei planned the remodel to increase the natural lighting inside the townhouse and provided a new floor plan more conducive to the flow of Chi energy. Envisioning this home with an open atrium at its heart, visible from most of the house, Wei moved the interior stairs to surround the atrium, thus eliminating any visual or psychological "dead ends" that woud block Chi energy. Applying sustainability practices in its new form, an "East meets West" eclectic design style, and a rejuvenated sense of place, the town house design is flawlessly envisioned for an occupant wating balance and clarity in thier surroundings.
