The Strategies for Learning English Through Reading and Strategies for Learning English through Grammar and Writing are designed to help high intermediate non-native English speakers with academic intent to:
• Build reading skills in the areas of comprehension and vocabulary |
• Inprove listening and speaking skills with material that is coordinated with reading content |
• Improve grammar through editing |
• Develop writing skills at the sentence and paragraph level with material that is linked to reading content

• Build academic skills to prepare for the English STEPS classes (ENGL 071 / 072 / 073 / 074) or other college classes |
Developmental Education Classes:
• Meet daily Monday through Friday |
• Day classes |
• Earn college credit |
Students must pay college tuition and buy books and materials. Financial aid available for students who qualify.
Requirements:
• Placement by the College English Assessment Test |
• Enrollment in the Reading Lab for one or two credits |
