Advanced Imaging / Continuing Education

Mammography

This is a comprehensive course offered for radiologic technologists, which will cover all specifications identified by the ARRT for the Mammography Advanced Level exam. Mammography Machine

In addition, lab time is scheduled with live models and modern mammography equipment to facilitate competency development in positioning for routine mammography. Some special positioning will also be covered.

The course will exceed the 40 hours required by the certification and accrediting bodies for employment as a mammographer. You would also need to pass the ARRT exam for which you will be prepared. Mammogram

Successful completion (C- or better) of this 4 credit course will produce 48 Continuing Education Category A credits, which satisfies all requirements for the ARRT.

This course is normally offered during Spring Quarter, one night a week with two Saturday labs.

Scholarships
The Susan G. Koman Breast Cancer Foundation has funded scholarships for tuition. Scholarships will be awarded based upon need, expressed desire to work as a mammographer, and successful completion of the course (C- or better).
