Interventional Radiology

The course is designed to provide the student with a basic knowledge of interventional radiology, and the type of exams that are performed. It will also help prepare the individual to take the CIT examination.

Interventional Procedure

The course will cover vascular angiography, vascular interventions, and non-vascular interventions, with an emphasis on indications and contraindications. The types of equipment and supplies used in the IR will be included, as well as digital imaging and equipment. Common drugs used, patient monitoring procedures and nursing practices used in interventional radiology will also be covered.

Interventional Procedure

This class normally meets during Winter quarter and meets one night a week for 3 hours.

Successful completion of this 3 credit course (C- or better) results in 36 continuing education credits which more than satisfies the 24 credit requirement by the ARRT for a biennium.
