Frequently Asked Questions
What is a network account?
A network account is used to access (log in) to a variety of technology services across campus. Employees create their own student network account online using the Network Account Management site at https://bellevuecollege.edu//password/.
How do I create my network and e-mail account?
Before you can start the set-up process, you'll need to know your system ID number (employee SID) and your personal identification number (PIN). This number is assigned to you when your supervisor files your hiring paperwork with the Human Resources office. Read all related college policies and standards, acceptable use of equipment, being part of the campus user network, and software licensing policies. Once you've finished reading the policies, proceed to the Network Account Management page for employees and follow the steps outlined.
How do I find out my employee SID?
Upon being hired at the college the unit you are assigned to will submit appropriate paperwork to the Human Resources (HR) office to begin the employment process. Once HR receives your hiring paperwork, they'll assign you an Employee SID.
If you are not sure if your hiring paperwork has been started yet, check with your supervisor. If this paperwork has been submitted, contact either your unit or the HR office (425-564-2274) to request your SID. Because a number of other services such as payroll and time-reporting rely on you having an Employee SID, obtaining this information is a vital part of your initial employment in-processing.
What if I am performing work for the college, but don’t have a SID because I am not an employee?
Non-employees may have network accounts created for them if requested by a supervisor or college administrator. The Non-Employee Network Account Request form [PDF] must be completed and approved, then submitted to Information Resources so that the account can be created.
What services can I access with my network account?
Your network account allows you to login to the administrative network computers across campus. It DOES NOT allow access to any student networking resources, such as lab or classroom computers (except podiums). Once you are logged in, you also have access to those college web-based resources to which you may have permission, such as:
MyBC
MyBC is a web portal giving employees a single point of access to all employee and student eTools (applications) and web-based resources used on a daily basis. MyBC also provides means for instructors to distribute materials electronically to their students using MyBC Class Sites. The college portal for employees contains portals (sites) for every division and department on campus to store inter-departmental files, collaborate on documents. The portal is role-based, meaning that content is personalized to each user
Request Center
Request Center is an website that is used at the college providing employees an easy, straightforward way to request assistance or order materials from multiple departments across campus. Use Request Center to ask for technical help from the college HelpDesk, or order materials and support from Campus Operations. Request Center also provides options to order equipment or assistance in the classroom through the Media Services department or order materials from the Graphics department. This is your one-stop spot for most any type of service requests.
Degree Audit
Faculty use Degree Audit when advising students. This is great resource that allows both students and faculty review a student’s course history and identify easily what courses a student needs to complete a degree. This resource is available to all students and faculty advisors.
EMS (Event Management System)
Commonly referred to as "EMS," the Event Management System serves employees as a web-based request tool for reserving meeting rooms on campus. All classroom space is scheduled by the Office of Instruction, however EMS may be used by employees to reserve space in available meeting rooms and public spaces for meetings or events.
Forms Library
In addition to Request Center, some processes and requests are still paper-based and require a signature. These types of forms and requests are located in the college Forms Library. You can locate this resource inside MyBC. (Hint: Click on Requests & Forms) from the navigation bar or do search for "forms."
How long is my network account active?
Employee accounts are disabled upon separation from the college. Non-Employee accounts will expire upon completion of the specific service being provided to the college.
What if I forget my password or want to update it?
You can reset your password using the Network Account Management for employees site.
