Required: (consider these as text book costs)

Mechanical Pencils -- (Preferred 1 each of #3, #5 and #7; choice of graphite up to student.)

Scale Ruler – Architects

Velum – 18” X 24” or larger

Triangles – 30-60-90 or variable

Metal Ruler / Cutting Edge

Colored pencils or Water Colors or Water Color Markers

Sketch Pad / Drawing Pad – 11” X 17” or larger

Modeling Supplies:

Mat-board – white or black

Foam Core – Black non gloss

Glue – Sobo / Elmer’s / white glue

Exacto Knife with blades

Balsa or Bass wood scaled to design

White Card Stock Paper

Non-Required:

I have acrylic paints and some water colors available, as well as modeling pastes, plasters and cloth; however, use of these materials may only occur on campus. My materials will not be available to take home, under any circumstances.

Students are always encouraged to use unconventional materials as long as they are safe and generally free of toxins. I often use items such as pill caps, quilting pins, wax, screen and textured paper to detail many of my models. You are free to use those items which best execute your concepts -- within scale.
