I'm a German native
born in Wuppertal, Germany, who came to the US
in July 1990. I had met my husband in Stuttgart, Germany.
Curiosity about the United States, and the place where my
husband came from made me step on the plane and I have stayed
ever since. We have two wonderful children, boy and girl,
live in Redmond, WA, and try to visit Germany every year to
see Oma and Opa, and the rest of the family. I enjoy doing
all kinds of sports, Jazzercise and weightlifting in particular,
I started taking piano lessons in 1999, I love to quilt, and
read, and I love cats. We adopted a little black cat that
was found in a dumpster. His name is Wynston (named after
Wynton Marsalis. I know!), and he is trying very hard to get
along with his older "cat step-sister" Mieze who
is very old.
I
have been teaching German and French at
BCC since Spring 1992. I was trained as a German and French
teacher in Stuttgart, Germany, after attending the University
of Tübingen and Freiburg in the South of the country.
I got my Magister and 1. Staatsexamen in Freiburg. I went
through a two year teacher training Referendariat in Stuttgart.
I also spent a 1 1/2 years in France (Paris and Tours) where
I had the opportunity to immerse myself into the French language,
food, culture and lifestyle, and I absolutely loved it, and
would very much enjoy going back.
