from Seton Hall University. I went to Penn State University
for my Masters in French. I also studied in Caen, in Normandy,
France as well as Nice, on the French Riviera. I
started out teaching French and Spanish at a country high

In high school, I took Spanish because I had to take something.
Why not Spanish? In college, I majored in psychology, but
because my minor was Spanish, I spent a semester living
with a host family and studying in Costa Rica. There, my
Spanish moved from theoretical to practical. I earned a
B.A in Psychology, with a Spanish minor, in 1988 from Linfield
College. After college, I married and moved to Costa Rica
where I worked as a high school counselor at a bilingual
school. When we returned to the U.S. three years later,
I continued my studies in psychology, completing my Master's
degree in 1995 at Seattle University. During graduate school,
I worked as a tutor of English, Spanish and psychology at
area community colleges.

Bonjour! I am American-born of English and French heritage,
and have been studying/teaching French, and traveling regularly
to France and Europe for over 25 years. I graduated from
Whitman College with a Bachelor of Arts in French; studied
and lived in Nantes, Tours, Strasbourg, Avignon and Paris;
and received my Master of Arts in French Literature from
the University of Washington. In addition to French, my
formal education in languages includes Spanish at Middlebury
College, in Salamanca and San Miguel de Allende, Mexico,
and some German and Italian. I have led study abroad and
home-stay student groups to France at both the University
of Strasbourg and the University of Nantes, where I also
taught in, and directed, a full quarter study abroad program
for community college students.
