Final Paper/Speech Option

100 Points

CHOOSE ONE OF THE FOLLOWING:

Option 1: The Final Paper

Length: 5 pages

Topic: A comprehensive analysis of your experience in this class.  Please discuss how you have progressed, or not progressed, as a communicator.  Highlight your experiences with public speaking, interpersonal communication, and small group communication.  Have you reached/attempted to reach your goals in taking the material we covered into your personal life?  It needs to be honest – I really want to know what you got out of this class in accordance with your original ideas.

Due: By 4:00pm on March 15 in my box (Room R230 on Main Campus)

Option 2: The Final Speech

Length: 4-6 Minutes

Topic: Your choice.  This should be a speech that is relevant, somehow, to your life – perhaps a toast, a business pitch, or a persuasive testimonial.  Try to avoid doing an informative speech; consider instead a descriptive speech.  The goal is to incorporate elements from class material, to correct mistakes made in past speeches, and to present a very solid, entertaining speech!

Due: You will turn in your outline and present on either March 9 or March 11. If this is the option that you choose, send me an e-mail and tell me if you prefer to speak on March 9 or March 11.  If I do not receive an e-mail from you with this information, I will assume you have chosen Option 1.
