CLASS DESCRIPTION: Class sessions will include lectures, videos, slide presentations, field trips and in-class exercises. This course will contain information given in the form of Power Points and lectures, text books, field trips, lighting observations, and a series of RCP applications. Class materials may be posted on the portal please do not assume that all material covered in class will be available to you online. If you are not able to come to class, it is your responsibility to get the current information from a classmate and be up to date when you arrive to the next class.

THIS WILL HELP YOUR SUCCESS IN THIS CLASS AND YOUR TIME MANAGEMENT. WHILE YOU WILL HAVE SOME OUT OF CLASS WORK,
THIS POLICY WILL HELP KEEP BALANCE TO YOUR OVERALL SCHEDULE.
The classroom will be conducted as
a working studio similar to an interior design firm studio. Please note the following studio etiquette:
Daily sign-in and on-time arrival. We will cover a vast amount of material and it is essential that you be on time and present for each class. If you miss more than (4) four class sessions, you will be asked to withdraw from the course in accordance with the Arts & Humanities Division attendance policies. Attendance will be taken at the beginning of each class on the time designated for the class. If you are late, you must check in with the instructor or you will be counted as absent for the entire class. Note: the attendance roster will not be changed after each class is complete. Absences and coming to class late will be noted and may affect your final grade.
Responsive and pro-active participation in-class discussions and in-class exercises. It is your responsibility to let me know if you are having trouble understanding a concept or assignment. Any students struggling with this course should see me as soon as possible for extra help. This includes anyone having difficulty reading, writing or understanding English and anyone who has additional questions not answered in class. I am happy to help you as much as possible, so please feel free to ask me for help.
Professional presentation and neatness. All work must appear professional, neat and organized with great attention paid to workmanship and details. Points will be deducted for messiness. All lettering and drafting should be of the highest quality. This policy includes any and all work handed in to be graded. All work will be explained at the time it is introduced and must be handed in with the appropriate paper, size, and format as described. Any variances may not be graded and zero points will be given.
GRADING: Grades will be based on a percentage of points accumulated
during the quarter. No incomplete grades
will be given at the end of the quarter.

There will be two exams; one
mid-term and one final. The mid-term
exam is written
and questions will be derived from
lectures and Power Points, supplemental handouts, tour(s), guest speaker(s), videos
and the text. The final exam is drawing
lighting layouts and applications on RCPs.
All projects/assignments must be turned in complete and on
time for full credit. Late projects and
assignments must be handed in no later than one class time after the due date
and will be graded one grade lower, i.e. from an A to a B. A project is considered to be late if you are
not ready to present when called upon or if your assignment is not handed in to
the instructor at the beginning of the
class, i.e. when the class starts at
