Assignment Intent: to develop an understanding of textiles, including physical properties of fibers, weaving and construction methods, appropriateness of the material, performance standards, life safety, environmental attributes and maintenance.
SAMPLES
Select one fabric that fits within each fiber category for further in depth research and study – total 20 samples.

PRESENTATION FORMAT:
· Develop the information on 8-1/2 x 11 sheets and secure in a binder. Data needs to be typed or hand written very neatly.
· Presentation is an important. Think about how your information is communicated. Use a paper that will show your samples well.
· Do not use plastic sheets
INFORMATION GATHERING / EXAMPLES OF USE:
Include the following information in your research, as it applies to the quantities above:
· For each fiber category, provide one (1) 2” x 2” sample with 100% fiber content (not a blended fabric)
· For each fiber category, provide one (1) 2” x 2” sample with a percentage blend of the fiber content
For each sample research and list the following information:
