Sheet for Essay #1 (093)
Each of the following is worth a possible 20 points:
- First/introductory
paragraph is the size of a small paragraph and includes a main
thesis/central idea which is stated clearly and understood by the reader. In
addition an actual thesis sentence is easily identifiable toward the end
of that first paragraph.
- The
second paragraph includes important information to help place the reader

the year, and if possible, the season.
- Your
story (narrative) reads smoothly throughout the essay with a build-up to a
climax in the paragraph right before the last/ending paragraph, with a
sense of closure found in the last paragraph.
- Use of

during the actual action line of this story, you will use some form of
past tense verbs.
