Can I learn Interior Design if I don't know how to draw??
Yes! You will begin taking courses in Art. Including Art 120 Beginning Drawing.
What if I studied at another college?
Bellevue College accepts coursework from other colleges. Particularly academic courses. Some classes are unique to our program however and may not be transferred. If you are enrolled in INDES 140 please make arrangements to see an advisor to determine your transfer credits. If you have taken an equivalent to INDES 140 our Introduction course, please contact us to discuss your path.
What if i was doing the three year degree and wish to return to finish that degree.
Depending on where you left off with your studies, you may return to finish in consultation with the Program Manager and a Faculty advisor. Please contact us for an appointment.
I can't get into Art 108 and I need to take Art 112 what do I do?
Art 108, Hand and Power tools is no longer a pre-requisite for Art 112. You can register for Art 112 wthout Art 108.
How long will it take me to finish?
The Associate of Arts in Interior Studies is 97 units. The Bachelor's degree has a minimum of 191 credits are required for graduation, inlcuding 90 credits earned through an associate’s degree Both degrees may be finished at Bellevue College.
The length of time to completion will depend on how many credits are transferred into the program and whether you attend full-time. Work with an interior design advisor to help plan your individualized path.
Can I skip taking classes for a quarter if I want?
If you are beginning with the AA degree you may take classes any quarter you wish, skipping quarters as you may need to.
Every BAA student is required to complete a minimum of one class per quarter, not including summer quarter, to maintain your status in the program. If an exceptional circumstance prohibits you from meeting this obligation, you must submit a written request to the program chair to prevent you from losing your status as a matriculated student.
If I’m accepted to Bellevue College must I start taking courses right away?
If you are beginning with the AA courses, you can take courses when you are able to begin.
If you have been accepted to the BAA you must begin taking courses in the quarter for which you were accepted.
If an extraordinary circumstance requires you to delay your educational plans, please contact the program chair or program manager immediately so that you don’t lose your place as a matriculated student.
Is there a required sequence for courses that I should take?
Some courses have prerequisites that require you to take them in sequence. To determine which courses and course sequence required to achieve your graduation requirements, consult the annual catalog or meet with an Interior Design Program advisor.
