| Begin or continue
your journey toward mastering Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese
or Spanish . You will work toward understanding written and oral
expression as well as learn a different cultural perspective.
CDs and web based materials, videos and other forms of technology will assist
your instruction and enhance your progress.
In beginning classes, emphasis is on the acquisition of a new set of linguistic habits. Learn to communicate using a different syntax, pronunciation, grammar and way of writing. In our more advanced classes, there is substantial practice in writing, conversation, exposure to literary texts, as well as reinforcing the already acquired skills. American Sign Language American Sign Language I (ASL& 121) - Introduces the basic vocabulary and grammar of ASL for the beginning student. American Sign Language II (ASL& 122) - Develops skills for the student with a basic knowledge of ASL. Students focus on the rules of grammar, idioms, vocabulary building, signing, and reading of signs.
