Bachelor of Applied Arts Program

How to Apply

Admission to the program is competitive, and the number of qualified applicants may exceed the number of available enrollment spaces. Meeting minimum GPA requirements does not guarantee admission. The most important indicator of potential success in the program and profession is evident in the candidate’s portfolio work. Admission criteria focus on the quality of the portfolio submitted.
Applicants will be required to submit a complete application package including BAA application, transcripts, portfolio, and recommendations.

For detailed portfolio requirements and other application instructions, download the BAA Application Package.

Recommendation Letters

All recommenders selected by the candidates must use the official recommendation form. Applicants must refer their recommenders to the Recommendation Form, which can be downloaded, completed, and mailed directly to the Interior Design BAA Admissions office.

During the 2009-2010 academic year, there are two distinct BAA application periods and processes.

Application for admission in Winter or Spring 2010

Complete Application Package, including portfolio and recommendations, will be accepted beginning October 1, 2009, and must be received no later than November 2, 2009.

Application for admission beginning in Summer 2010

Application materials will be submitted in two stages:

  • Stage 1: Application form and fee, transcripts, essay and recommendations (without portfolios) will be accepted beginning December 1, 2009, and must be received no later than January 15, 2010.
  • Stage 2: Portfolios will be submitted separately, and accepted beginning March 1, 2010, and must be received no later than April 2, 2010.

Notice of Acceptance

Candidates for admission to the Interior Design BAA program will receive acceptance notification on November 13th, 2009, from Bellevue College Enrollment Services to the e-mail address listed on the candidate's application form.

The notification e-mail will include a projected start date (Winter or Spring 2010), instructions on verifying eligibility for enrollment at that time, a registration appointment time for Winter 2010 courses, directions for registering in upper-division courses, and other relevant information.
