Before the main campus was built, BCC held classes in the evenings at Newport High School. Photo ca. 1966.

The first bookstore on the BCC campus provided comfortable spots for students to leisurely browse the books. 1969 photo.

BCC’s first bookstore featured a wicker desk and chair where students could write and study. 1969 photo.

This sculpture, which echoes the lines of BCC’s fountain, originally graced the courtyard north of the Student Union. It was later replaced by another sculpture, "The Doorway," by former faculty member Ray Jensen, honoring the memory of former Interior Design Chair Doris Katz. Photo undated.

From 1983 through 1999, BCC rented the nearby Robinswood Elementary School as a home for its growing Continuing Education program. When the school district did not renew the lease in 1999, BCC had to cut 100 Continuing Education classes and disperse the rest to 90 locations around the community, wherever space could be found. Soon after, the program moved to facilities next to Factoria Mall, and then in 2001, to its current location at North Campus. Undated photo.
