FACILITIES
Bellevue College's successful athletic programs enjoy
the use of some of the best facilities in the area. The facilities
are continually being uprgraded to provide BC students, athletes,
and the eastside community with some of the best sporting venues around.

Home of the BC baseball team, Courter Field is one of the Pacific Northwest's top baseball facilities.
During the spring of 1994, the field was named in honor of Al Courter,
owner of Honda Auto Center of Bellevue.
Courter has been a significant donor for a variety of projects and programs at BCC such as the North
West Center for Emerging Technologies (NWCET), which was completed
in 1997, and the Early Childhood Center which is was completed in
2002. 1983, major seating renovations were completed. Permanent,
concrete-based bleachers were added to provide a seating capacity
of 1,000. In 2000, the seating structure was re-painted and replaced.
In addition, two full-size artificial turf batting cages were installed
along left field. The field also features a full-size tarp which
covers the entire infield. This has been an integral part of Bellevue's
capability of eliminating rainout games. The first wireless
inning-by-inning scoreboard in western Washington was installed at Bellevue.
The $30,000 scoreboard, funded by President Floten, the Puget Sound
Baseball League, Taylor Baseball Club, and U.S. Bank, was illuminated
for the first time in fall of 2001. In 2003, Courter Field received
a facelift with the construction of a new press box and concession
stand courtesy of Chaffey Homes and the Puget Sound Senior Baseball
League. Most recently, the field received a new drainage and irrigation system in 2008.
Because of the large size, condition
of the playing surface, and full enclosure, Courter Field has been
a hotbed for major tournaments and baseball events such as the prestigious Area Code Games tryouts, and Baseball Northwest Selection Games. The Brandy Pugh (formerly
Vern Bean) Memorial Tourney, the most prestigious and longest-running
youth invitational in the region, is held at Courter field
in July. The field has also
played host to the Connie Mack Pacific Regionals, American Legion District Tourney, Mickey Mantle
State Championships, National Prep Championships and Century 21's Fantasy Camp All-Star Game
in August 2001. The event, which was coordinated in conjunction
with the Major League Baseball All-Star Week, featured Major League
Hall of Famers Harmon Killebrew and the late Tug McGraw
A public address stereo system was designed for Courter Field by Morgan Sound, outfitters for Everett
Memorial Stadium's (home of the Everett Aqua Sox) sound system.
The actual playing surface is considered by many as one of the truest
fields around. The dimensions of the diamond are: 330' down the
lines, 365' in the alleys, and 385' to center. Because of the dimensions
down the line and a consistent wind that blows across from left
to right field, Courter Field is considered by many as a 'pitcher's
ballpark'.
Semi-annual maintenance procedures include aeration, rolling, overseeding w/ perennial rye three times
a year. Courter Field's infield mix is comprised of a combination
of Santana Infield Gold and Turface MVP. This is the same soil composition
used at Safeco Field.
The field is not only the home for BC, but for top youth programs Taylor Baseball and
Lux Homes of the Seattle Premier League. The Puget Sound Senior Baseball League is the biggest
user of the field each year.

BC Gymnasium:

The gymnasium at Bellevue College has just
undergone a major facelift. The 19,000 square foot facility has
a new wood floor installed by Western Hardwood of Seattle. The same
company that has done floors for the Key Arena, the Sonics/Storm
practice facility and the Final Four.
The BC gym has three full sized basketball floors and plays host
to many youth tournaments throughout the year including the Bellevue
Holiday Classic, which first tipped off in 1970. It is also home
of the KingCo 3A High School Basketball Championships along with district playoffs
as well.
BC is also a fabulous venue for volleyball. With three regulation
courts, the school hosts youth and adult leagues as well as being proud hosts
of the 2001and 2005 NWAACC Volleyball Championship Tournament.

Soccer Field |
Soccer Field:
Located in the Northwest corner of campus just west
of Courter Field sits the BC soccer field, home for BC Men's and
Women's Soccer. Along with team use, the field may be renter to
the general public throughout the year.
